Former DGP Dr.Ashok Bhan is likely to be inducted as the advisor of Governor Satya Pal Malik.
Sources have revealed that the decision in this regard has already been taken and the announcement to this effect may come out any time soon, however there has been no credible confirmation for his induction so far.
After former Inspector General Farooq Khan, Dr.Bhan will be another senior cop, from state cadre to be included in the list of advisors to Governor.
 Born on 1st April 1950 Ashok Bhan is a retired Indian Police Service  (IPS) officer (J&K-1976). A PhD in Botany, Dr. AK Bhan held important positions in Jammu and Kashmir State Government including that of the Commissioner of Vigilance, Director General  (Intelligence) and Director General of Police (Prisons). After his retirement, he served as a Member of the National Security Advisory Board (2010-2012) and a Member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (2012-18).
During his service career he acquired expertise in Anti — militancy operations, Intelligence and Anti-Corruption, Issues related to governance, Security of VIPs and Vital Installations, Recruitment and Training.
He is currently Patron, J&K Regional Branch, Indian Institute of Public Administration; Member University Court, Central University of Jammu and Distinguished Fellow,
A Kashmiri by birth, Ashok Bhan is known to have been an honest, dedicated and upright officer, who was also very easily accessible to the people.
Meanwhile,Advisior K Vijay Kumar may be appointed as Governor  of Jharkhand
